Abortion is a very sinful thing. The Bible says “Thou shalt not kill.” The laws of today also says that you can not murder. This however, is contradictory, if you kill a newborn baby or a young baby you will be charged with murder and sentenced to serve time in jail. If a pregnant woman is killed, the murderer will be charged with two counts of murder (both the mother and the unborn baby). Yet, if that same pregnant woman chooses that she, for whatever reason, does not want to carry and give birth to the baby, she has the choice to kill that baby according to the laws passed in 1973. Doctors kill thousands of babies every day that is a baby every 97 seconds that looses their life and their killer never goes to jail because today this is call Abortion, but in reality it is nothing more than “LEGALIZED MURDER!”

Several arguments revolve around the issue of abortion. We will discuss some of these in depth.

Pro-Choice / Pro-life

The Argument for Pro-Choice
The People for the argument for Pro-Choice:
There are several well-known organizations which stand for the
Pro-Choice issue. Here are some that you might recognize…

  • Planned Parenthood
  • League of Women Voters
  • National Abortion Federation
  • ACLU
  • NOW

The Position of the argument for Pro-Choice:
The main question is: “Who decides, the woman or the government?” Clearly this is a woman’s rights issue. This is the basic and only question. Should she or should she not have the right to choose? Here are a few of the arguments you will hear…

  • Its my body, and I can do what I want with it
  • Its the rest of my life that I have to share with a child
  • I’m not ready to take responsibility

Does the Mother have a choice? Why of course she does. YES it is the mother choice, she has already made her choice, if she was not yet ready to be a mother she should not have had sex. When the mother makes the choice to lie down and create it then she should have to stand up and take responsibility for it.YES it is the mother choice.

The argument for Pro-Life:

    • I believe that the unborn child is human
    • I believe that a constitutional amendment should be passed that gives equal protection to all living humans, including the unborn
    • I believe that the violence inside and outside abortion clinics is morally wrong.
    • I believe that rape and incest are horrible crimes and should be punished, but I don’t believe that a child conceived from either should be Killed.
    • I do not believe that the government should fund abortions.

Blob / Baby

It is a non-living blob: For years pro choice people have always said “Its not a baby it’s a blob” They say this blob is a stage of pre-natal mammalian mass which (in humans) extends from the morula stage (a shapeless mass of cells about 4 days after fertilization), to an bilaminar (two layer) embryo stage (1 week after fertilization). Pro-choice advocates typically believe that the transition happens much later when the fetus is viable — capable of living on its own, or when its body begins to follow the brain signals given, or when it is born.

It’s a living baby:

Human life begins at the moment of conception. This is a contested yet undeniable truth. At the moment of conception a new human is created in his or her complete form. There has never been neither will there ever be a human with the same genetic code. This “baby” only has half the genetic code of his or her mother; it is not merely a piece of her. This baby, under normal conditions, will grow into an human individual one just as everyone alive today. This baby is already its own person. After the first day, development into human form progresses very rapidly.

  • Two weeks after conception, the embryo has a developing brain and and heart.
  • Three weeks after conception, the baby has a working heart, the beginning of vertebrea, a closed circulatory system separate from the mother’s, developing eyes and ears and the beginning of lungs.
  • Around the 25th day, the lungs are fully developed, and the heart begins to beat. The heart circulates blood throughout the fetus’ body; this is blood completely different and often incompatible with the blood of the mother. The baby’s developed systems are already separate from those of the mother; one month after conception it is no longer a part of her.
    • Five weeks after conception, the embryo has developed smaller organs such as a bony jaw, and by six weeks, the vertabra column, ribs, a fully functional heart, fingers, and nostrils. The baby also has a developing nervous system. The brain waves can be recorded at an average of 40 days after conception. (Death is often defined as the cessation of brain waves), this guarantees the individual life of the fetus.
    • By 7 weeks, the baby’s pancreas, bladder, kidneys, tongue, larynx, and muscles begin to appear.
    • By eight weeks, the embryo has ears, fingers, and toes, and all needed body parts are developed or are developing.

Nine weeks into the pregnancy (about 2 months), the baby can feel pain

  • At ten weeks, the baby has developing fingernails, and also begins to move by itself.
  • By eleven weeks the baby has the fingerprints that will identify it for the rest of its life.
  • At twelve weeks an ultrasound can tell whether the baby is a boy or a girl. It is able to swallow, and its kidneys are able to make urine.
  • Fourteen weeks into pregnancy, the fetus has fully developed legs. It can kick, sleep, and move its head.
  • Twenty weeks after conception, babies respond to small stimulation, e.g. “to a brush on its lips by sucking.”
  • Twenty-three weeks (5 months) after conception, the baby is able to think. It begins to dream and is capable of learning. A week later, the baby learns to respond to sound. 40% of babies born at this time will reach adulthood.
  • Twenty-eight weeks (6 months) after conception, the baby can breath air, and its eyes are open. By this time the fetus can hear. 90% of babies born at this time will reach adulthood. There is no question that the baby is now its own person, not a part of its mother. It can learn, think, and live its own life without its mother.
  • By the beginning of the third trimester, a baby is completely developed, and almost every baby born at any part of the third trimester will live until adulthood. The third trimester is primarily a time for the unborn child to grow in safety within its mother. The baby is fully capable of reacting, feeling pain, and thinking. The final major developmental occurs at thirty-two weeks when the Baby gains the muscle control to firmly grasp objects.
  • After delivery is complete, babies are for the first time granted legal protection from murder. Until the completion of birth, these babies can be and are legally killed through abortion.Termination / Murder “If men strive, and hurt a women with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life” (Ex.21:22-23). The Bible sets forth a minimal case with larger implications for justice to be served by the civil authorities:(1.) “If men strive… .” The plural “men” is employed for the purpose of speaking indefinitely, because there might possibly be more than one person involved in causing injury.

(2.) “So that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow… .” An example of a premature birth. Even if no injury results to either mother or child, the man who causes the “premature birth” is liable to be fined and, in fact, must be fined. The Bible strongly protects the pregnant mother and her child, so that every pregnant mother has a strong hedge of legal protection around her.

  • (3.) “And if mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life… .” An example of accidental abortion. If the penalty for an “accidental abortion” is so severe, it’s obvious that a deliberately induced abortion is strongly forbidden. It is not necessary to have a separate ban on any form of deliberate abortion since the maximum penalty is served by this statute. If man through his own reckless actions, unintentionally hurts a pregnant mother and causes her to abort a child, he must suffer the death penalty. How much more so for any person who intentionally induces an abortion?
(4.) “if any mischief follow… give life for life.” The Bible strongly protects human life from the moment of conception. With the phrase “if any mischief follow,” the child has equal protection under the law from the moment of conception “life for life.” God does not make exceptions that tolerate injury to any pregnant mother, or any child in the womb. In fact CURSES “come upon” and “overtake” nations that refuse to administer justice (Deut. 28:15). If God does not tolerate exceptions to the administration of justice concerning murder by abortion, then neither should His people.

There is essentially no difference between an unborn third-trimester baby and a born premature baby. Each has the potential and the overwhelming probability to become an individual adult. Each has the genetic code, physical form, fingerprints, etc. that make us unique. Each has the sentient thoughts that make us human. Each can feel pain if it is killed. About 39 weeks after the pregnancy begins, most babies are born.
